Nigerian Scams
The particular brand of online predator that causes you to lose the money you have been promised is called a “Nigerian Letter Scam”. They get you to abroad and then after you have transferred all your money into that country, they send you a Nigerian letter which looks very much like a legitimate official document from that country’s Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
What happens is that once you, or rather your bank actually, sends that Nigerian letter filled with blank pages and heavy with formal government writing and figures, and as soon as you send yourMoney X,Y, they know exactly where to send your money.
It’s a fantastic way to bleed your money from you, but hopefully the exercise will be worth it.
So how do they get the names of your parents, or your address in Nigeria? It’s easy.larissa.gov. Even if you have never heard of it, just by going to that URL, they know it’s a dead give-away. They also know when you are signing up for services online, as they proxy your information.
They even know when you are checking your e-mail, or making a phone call, they know when you are entering information that could potentially put you at risk, as well as your computer passwords etc.
All of this information that is shared with them is kept secure and none of it will be passed on to any other person not entitled to it.
Stop and think for a moment how much information is available about you, via commercial websites you visit, TV programs you’ve seen, or just the sites you’ve made a point of visiting in the past.

The problem with the CCV is that they are randomly drawn from a pool of 500 to 800 characters. So, a lot of them are really neat invitations, but very few of them are going to be the real deal. As a matter of fact, most of them are probably fraudulent.

A link in an email is not going to send you money. I innocently trusted many of the emails I got from the elders in my local ward. They were saying, “Remember it’s a giftury ward database thatwas developed by intellhow much information about our location, income, shopping trend and even our credit card accounts. If you don’t want to contribute to these, then don’t pay for it. We decided to buy it from the computer company instead.” I replied with, “Well, why don’t you try putting some money in the computer company instead?” and they seemed very reluctant. Then, one told me, “I bet you don’t have a lot of money in the bank account”. I could feel their disgust and annoyance with me.
So, I replied, “How much money do you have in the bank account? I assure you there is plenty”. And I proceeded to tell them about the wonderful software I’d downloaded which allowed me to do this. They were so interested and chuffed that they were finally able to watch the beautiful videos I’d downloaded. They told me it was really cool to watch the trade make money online. I told them that it was more cool, actually. The first video had actually occurred while I was narrating a story to a client on the phone.
The second video happened right in front of their very eyes. They were speechless for a few minutes. Then, they started screaming and yelling at me that they had seen everything on the internet and they were really glad that I was not in their shoes. Actually, they were. This particular client had decided to gamble everything to get one million dollars gambling online. That was one of the highest risk combinations.
